When you want to make a positive change in your life, one of the most accessible things is to get fit. You can change not only your body, but also your mind and energy levels by exercising more and increasing your endurance. Here is how to increase your endurance:
- Be organized. If you want to make progress, you have to know exactly what are you capable of. If you run for a mile today and only a quarter tomorrow, you can’t know if you have improved since the previous week. Create a program and write down how much you exercise every day.
- Create a goal. You don’t have to think big at the beginning, and if you just started running it is not a good idea to plan a marathon for the next month. On the other hand, you have to be ready to fight for something. Think, for example, that you should be able to run 5 miles in the next two months. This will give you a clear idea on what you have to do and what you will achieve.
- Overcome your limit. You are tired, you have pain in your legs and you can barely feel your lungs? Normally, you would stop when you feel like this but in order to increase your endurance, you have to be ready to get past this. In the first day, try to run for 10 minutes more after you reached your usual limit. Keep this rhythm for the next week and then add another 10 minutes. After a while you will notice that you can handle physical activity with ease and you won’t tire easily. The trick is to increase your time in increments.
