Obesity is such a big problem in the world that we tend to talk only about it. However, there are many people in the world who are underweight and need to gain extra pounds to become healthier.  Being underweight is also a sign of many health related issues. While to lose weight we talk about speeding up the calorie burning process, to gain weight we need to learn how to slow it down. Here are some tips.

If you are looking to add some extra kilos to your body, you will really be surprised to know that you will need to get started by eating less. But there is a science to it. If you are eating too much then your body will need speed up the metabolism to burn the calories. However, if you start eating less initially, your body will begin to learn to slow down the rate of metabolism. Once your body is accustomed to it, you can start eating more.

If you are working out at a gym, make sure that you reduce the duration of physical exercises. When you are working out, the calories burn faster and hence your metabolism increases. This does not mean that you don’t need to work out at all. If you will abandon all the physical activities, you will start feeling dull and lazy.

Add more calories to your diet. However, do that only when your body has gotten used to burning calories slowly. Increase your calorie intake by at least 1000 to 1500 every day. You may not be able to eat extra, but by making the right food choices you can always add extra calories.
